Stories From The Table

Fernando is a new member of The Table community in 2025 and one of the quickest transformations we have experienced.
This began during a chance meeting at the beginning of 2025 with a call from another person in the communty: “Is there any way you could bring dinner to me and a friend, we could not make it to the dinner in person tonight?” One of our volunteers brought a few dinners and had a visit with 3 people that night. Fernando was one of them. Over the next couple of months we built trust and started a path of next steps. As of August 2025 The Table walked beside Fernando from living behind a dumpster to employment and a rental room. Fernando is growing in his faith and sharing part of his paycheck to help his mom and sister.

Robert and Amie – An update on progress, faith and blessing others
Robert and Amie became part of The Table several years ago and we are blessed to have been agents in their change from addiction and homelessness to sobriety, employment and a home. This is a 2-year update! They are now living in a different state (a change of location and surrounding people is a key to long-term change). Robert is a chef in a restaurant and thriving. Amie is a licensed healthcare worker once again and is working full-time in a care center. Recently she was promoted to a leadership position as well! They both volunteer with their new church and the Salvation Army to pass on the blessings they received to others.

Eric is a long-time friend of The Table. The last couple of years have been hard with mobility challenges.
We are happy to say that The Table has been able to support Eric this year in many ways. We provided support during 2 spinal surgeries: Doctor visits, transportation, lodging assistance during recovery and partial funding and assembly of an E-Tricycle.

Tyler is a long time friend of The Table. Here he has found acceptance, support and encouragement.
We are happy to say that he is starting his college journey and with the support of The Table is enrolled for the 2024 fall term!

Alex is a friend of The Table that has been looking for support to change from the street life. Here he has also has found acceptance, support and encouragement.
We are so happy to report that his employer is so happy with Alex’s work that he continues to receive more work hours.
We are even more happy to report that with the support and assistance of The Table he is now renting a room and is off the streets!

Shawn is one of the first members of The Table. We have become his family and support system.
We are so happy to report that Shaen is working 2 jobs and with the support and assitance of The Table is renting a room and out of tent living.
